Meet Robert and Danielle Feddes
We’re Robert and Danielle, and our journey to GospelStoryBooks began with an unexpected boat and a powerful lesson about sharing faith.
For 30 years, mys parents served as missionaries in Greece, sailing between islands on their boat, the Dolphin 2, sharing God’s love with people they met. Danielle and I dreamed of following their path “someday when we retired.” But God had different plans – and a sense of humor!
Before retirement, He surprised us with a boat in the Azores, right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. When Robert first saw it, he wanted to turn around and walk away! But God’s whisper was clear: “this is for you.” Five years of hard work later, we finally got her to Greece, ready to continue the legacy of maritime ministry of Robert’s parents.
The Power of Story
During a boat delivery from The Netherlands to Sweden, I learned something that changed my approach to sharing my faith. There were four of us aboard – two believers and two friends who weren’t believers. One night, as we shared our life stories, I made a mistake. I went into “convince mode” – trying to explain and argue about faith. The resistance was immediate.
But then something amazing happened…
My fellow believer simply shared his personal story of encountering Jesus. No arguments. No pressure. Just his story. The atmosphere transformed completely! Our friends were captivated, hearing about Jesus with open hearts instead of raised defenses.
